PrideTT: Celebrating LGBTQI+ Pride in Trinidad and Tobago
PrideTT is the nationally recognized organizing committee for Trinidad and Tobago’s annual LGBTQI+ Pride celebrations. As a registered non-profit organization, we are comprised of volunteers, stakeholders, and partners who are all dedicated to the mission of bringing communities together to celebrate the lives and contributions of LGBTQI+ Trinbagonians.
Our Mission
At PrideTT, our mission is to foster a sense of unity and inclusivity within the LGBTQI+ community in Trinidad and Tobago. We strive to create a safe space where individuals can express their true selves and celebrate their identities without fear of discrimination or prejudice.
Through our annual Pride celebrations, we aim to raise awareness, promote acceptance, and advocate for the rights and well-being of LGBTQI+ individuals in our society. We believe that everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression.
Our Work
Throughout the year, PrideTT organizes various events, workshops, and campaigns to support and empower the LGBTQI+ community. These initiatives focus on education, advocacy, and community-building.
1. Pride Parade and Festival
Our annual Pride Parade and Festival is the highlight of our celebrations. It is a vibrant and joyous event where LGBTQI+ individuals and allies come together to march, dance, and celebrate diversity. The parade is a powerful symbol of visibility and acceptance, sending a message of love and inclusivity to the entire nation.
2. Educational Workshops
We conduct educational workshops to raise awareness about LGBTQI+ issues and promote understanding and acceptance. These workshops are aimed at schools, businesses, and organizations, providing them with the tools and knowledge to create inclusive environments.
3. Support and Resources
PrideTT offers support and resources to LGBTQI+ individuals who may be facing challenges or seeking guidance. We collaborate with local organizations to provide counseling, legal assistance, and other services that promote well-being and equality.
